Pure + Orange = love!

My guild is having its first challenge using a charm pack of Moda's "Pure".  Well I decided to bend the rules a bit and use two packs (shhh....don't tell anyone).  I met up with Julie for dinner on Tue to pick up my packs and we had such a great time chatting and catching up!  She even had a present for me!! A tote bag and a charm pack of Collections for a Cause-Hope.  Thank you Julie!

I've been itching to make a whirlygiggle quilt and found the perfect tutorial (thanks Katie!) over at Quilting on Turtle Hill.  Off I went to the quilt shop and came home with a surprising  fabric.  I must be really wanting fall, because I came home with orange and I'm loving it!

I've made 16 blocks- here's a peak at one of them:

My poor snowbound blocks are falling behind!

I also realized I never posted pictures of Karen's blocks!  They are so pretty- thank you so much!
Off to watch Project Runway~

Oh how I love the "Pure" fabrics. I am envious that you had such a good reason to buy the charm packs. I love fabrics with words. The whirlygiggle block looks great - you're off to a great start!

This is going to be another fun one to watch as it progresses, as will your swap blocks too. You have some fun days ahead with both projects! ---"Love"

I love the orange with the Pure fabrics! Fabulous contrast and the whirligig pattern is terrific. I must make one of those. You are a lucky girl to receive such delightful goodies. Karen's blocks are lovely - such soft colours. Ann :-)

I haven't seen the Pure fabrics before, they're lovely! But I have to admit I'm very partial to orange these days, and try to work it in wherever I can.

Cute! I'm a little afraid of orange too but in that block it really pops! I've got to try that pattern. Would be a cute baby quilt too. Take care - rest alot! Jenn

Your new blocks are really neat, love the colors in the fabric.

Karen's blocks are so pretty, love the soft colors.

I am behind on my Snowbound blocks, too, but I'm getting caught up. I decided to make a little time for them. I am working on June, have July and August to do.

I can't believe I missed this post! I love the "Pure" fabric and of course the whirlygig block. The block really showcases your fabric. The Collections For a Cause - Hope fabric is lovely, as well. Hope to see more, soon.

Dude! did you see this? http://www.spunsugarquilt.com/2010/08/pure-orange-go-together-like-bread-and.html

I got so excited for you, a "famous" quilter was inspired by you! (and in my book moda bake shop=fame!)

These blocks are great. The collections for a cause is a nice line of fabrics. I just picked up this charm pack yesterday.
