Sweet Relief

Hello out there!  Where has the time gone?  I've fallen off of the face of the blogging earth.

Emily is over a year now and very close to walking.  She's certainly all over the place these days.  (This would be why I'm not quilting). Its been a total roller coaster ride of a year and she's been sick with ear infections, viruses, and colds more times than I'd like to count. We spent her birthday in the ER for 8 hrs thanks to croup.  Ugh!

Here's Emily on Halloween.

I've only made one quilt over the past 6 months.  Its a pattern from Moda Bake Shop called Charming Hearts.  I made mine out of a Fig Tree Millhouse Inn layer cake I had and added the purple for the background.  I called mine Sweet Relief :)

For the back I found some Fig Tree fabric from another line at 50% off! Woo Hoo!
I had it machine quilted by Quilting Sweethearts- again that whole time thing.  Hank seems to enjoy it.

Not too much else to report!  I've been ever so slowly hand quilting a quilt I made like 3 years ago.  One of these days it will get finished and one of these days I'll have time to quilt again!! (here's a picture of the quilt in this old entry)

I hope you are all doing well and I hope to have a chance to catch up on everyone's blogs- HUGS to you all and Happy Thanksgiving!!

What a beautiful little girl Emily is! Your Sweet Relief looks soft and comfy, and I'm glad you are again working on that beautiful Fireside quilt. Just take your time; it will finally be finished. ---"Love"

Wow Christine! She's grown so much. And so beautiful. Love her costume!!! I totally understand the no quilting part with a small one around. I was the same way - my quilting took a 2 year hiatus when I had my first child. Then when the second one came along, I HAD to quilt. Helped to balance my sanity! Happy Holidays!! Jenn

It's so good to see an update from you! I'm sorry Emily has been under the weather so much, but she sure looks good in those Halloween pictures. Too cute! Love the quilt. Don't worry, you'll have more time to quilt again eventually. For now just enjoy the munchkin years!

It is so good to hear from you, I know you are busy with that sweet little bundle. Emily is so adorable, love her in the costume and the birthday picture. Your quilt is beautiful, too. It turned out great! Keep in touch when you can and keep the pictures coming.

Dear little Emily, one already! Great to see that motherhood is keeping you out of mischief at least! ;)

Geez, so good to hear from you. Emily is so lovely and I'll bet she is alot of fun. My new granddaughter, Mara, just turned a year old. She makes me laugh! Enjoy her, they grow up too fast. You will have plenty of time to quilt later on!

Emily is so beautiful. Sorry she has had a rough time with being sick.
Sweet relief is so adorable. I like your colors. Keep working on fireside quilt when you have a few minutes and it will get done.
Thanks for stopping in. I miss hearing from you. I remember how busy you are when you work and have a baby.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Hi Christine! I'm so slack - I owe you an email. Sorry to read that Emily has had a rough trot (as we say here). She's impossibly cute - especially in that strawberry outfit. Sweet quilt - it's a pretty fabric range. Must use mine one of these days. Happy Thanksgiving! I'll write more soon. ann :-)

What an adorable little strawberry! She's gotten so big, but that's how it goes, right? I'm glad to see you found a bit of time for yourself to make the quilt (I think Hank is probably happy, too!), but we all know Emily is your #1 priority. We'll be here when she's napping! :)

I've never seen a cuter strawberry! I sure do understand your lack of quilting and blogging. I think getting one quilt done and working on hand quilting another one is very good for a new mother. I can sympathize with the ear infections also. Our 3 yr old GS had lots of those his first year - nearly wiped out our DS/DIL from lack of sleep! Just enjoy the days with your darling Emily!
