Zippy Bobo's buddies

Its almost the weekend!! I'm so ready for it.

My hubby had off for Martin Luther King Jr Day and I had to work a 12 hr day. Boo to that! I told him I wanted a surprise to come home to.

He cracks me up! These are my new Zippy BoBo slippers- named for the sock monkey I gave my mom a year ago. Here he is sitting on the quilt I gave her last Christmas.

(I bought him from this Etsy shop).

And just for fun, here's a picture of the quilt I gave her this year. I know some of you have seen this before- in multiple stages so sorry for the repeat.

Today I finished making the binding for my table runners but that's as far as I got. I thought I had some fabric for the backing, but nothing quite worked right. Just another reason to go fabric shopping :)

And since I'm in a picture sort of mood- here's a picture from in my sewing room. My big mason jar full of ribbon and binding for WIP's, some of my great grandmother's thimbles, and a painting my great grandfather painted for my grandfather. 13 was his special lucky number and the number has followed me too (born on the 13th in room 313, married on the 13th, passed my boards on the 13th with a liscence number that ends in 13 etc.). Happy quilting everyone~

Lucky 13. I like that number, it really does seem to be a good one for you and your family.
I love your slippers and your Mom's quilts (and monkey). I had a stuffed monkey named Zippy when I was little.

Eeek! The slippers are hilarious! I like your husband's sense of humour.

So many people think 13 is unlucky, but you (and your family) have embraced it and made it your own. Love it!

My mom likes the number 13 also. That, and Thursdays. Love the slippers. Now that I have figured out how to leave comments, I won't look so unsocial;)
Happy Quilting!!!

I LOVE the slippers! I had a pair similar to them, but wore them out. I sleep in sock monkey flannel sheets every night in winter, too. I wish my hubby had that good sense - his idea of a "surprise" is something like he folded the couch blanket...

So how did you mom like the black and white quilt?
The slippers are a hoot.

I love those slippers! Enjoy tucking your toes in there when you retreat to your quilting room. I'll have to get myself a mason jar for binding - great idea! -Joanne

Those slippers are awesome! I made 3 sock monkeys for each of my daughters and granddaughter. I just have to make some more... they were a lot of fun.

Love the slippers, they make me laugh just to look at them! Your quilts are great, too. The number 13 is my youngest daughters lucky number, too. She was born on a Friday, the 13 and has always loved the number. When she played sports she always wanted the jersey #13.

Enjoy wearing your new slippers!

Thanks for your comment, the repair man clled me today and I can get my machine back next week can't wait! The quilt as you go is not hard, the pattern that i'm doing is called amish spring and the book that it is in, is call ,Our best scrap quilt, your strip is 2 1/2 inches wide and just got to get the main part center real straight and the rest is easy. I will try to get me daughter to put pictures on for me. When finish it is going to be 110 by 110 if I can get it done, got a ways to go. Have a good week in. HAPPY SEWING!

Funky slippers! Hope that wasn't all of the surprise....How nice to see your quilts again. I wonder if a retrospective is in order. Everyone has made so many wonderful projects I wouldn't mind seeing them again. Nice shot of the sewing room. Ann :-)
