Pink or Blue?

There's been so much going on the past week that I haven't gotten much quilting done.  My husband and I are sooooo excited!!!

I'm not very good at holding this sort of thing in. Many people/websites suggest waiting longer to announce, but I figure if heaven forbid something happens, you will all understand my absence.  My due date is somewhere around Nov 30th.  A Thanksgiving baby  :)  We haven't decided if we'll find out the sex, but I think the only reason I'd want to know is to pick out fabric.  You all understand!

Needless to say there hasn't been much quilting going on, but I did get a few things finished.

My cousin's T-shirt quilt is done!  Here it is with my husband holding it up.  I'm telling him to straighten it out and hold it up.  He's standing on a chair and telling me I'm crazy if I think he can hold it any higher or any more spread out.
Its a monster!  I love the quilting.  I also embroidered my initials and the date on the back.  Don't mind the fuzz:

I've also been working on my swap blocks.  24 done (4 have already been shipped).
I'm thinking I need to make 2 more (2 for me).  For the ladies in the swap, is this right?  There are 13 of us right?

Then the last bit of show and tell is my purchase from the North Penn craft show two weekends ago.  I had a great time meeting Ann Hermes.  I bought this little ornament from her.

I'm off to sew the binding to The General.  I need to clear the sewing decks and make way for new pink or blue projects :)

Congratulations! Like Lisa said, naps are absolutely justified now :) And if you do want a surprise in November, you could always pick out mixed colours for all the requisite quilting projects.

Congratulations!!! Very exciting! Though I don't plan to have any kids of my own, I'm always hounding friends about the sex because I want to go buy fabric to make a quilt as a shower gift. The swap blocks look great! And you're correct, there are 13 of us in all.

Oh wow, THAT'S WONDERFUL!!!!! I'm so excited for you both (it also explains the comment on my post!).

The basketball quilt looks fantastic, the best I've ever seen I think. And your blocks look great too.

Congratulations, that is wonderful news! I could never keep it to myself, either. I was always too excited to keep a secret. Naps and lots of rest is good advice. Do it while you can! My first and second were surprises and my third I knew she was a girl. Either way you choose, it is nice. Surprises are always fun and if you do know, you can refer to the baby by name months before it arrives. The bond is formed early. That's fun, too.

Your quilts look great, I love the basketballs quilted into the t-shirt quilt. It is just perfect! Your swap blocks look great, I have to get busy making some more of mine. It is really neat you got to meet Ann and the little ornament you bought is great. Ann does such wonderful work. Enjoy looking for pink and/or blue things to make, there are some adorable patterns out there!

Oh my goodness! What exciting news! But I think maybe I'm "running" with the wrong age group! I'm old enough to be the grandmother to all of you kids who are still having kids! *wink*
Your basketball tee-shirt quilt is very special! So are all those swap blocks!
I'm so glad you got to meet Ann and to get a little keepsake item from her. ---"Love"

Christine!!! Such wonderful news, I am so excited for you. In my younger days I was an OB nurse and helped bring lots of babies into the world. Later I worked In an OB office and taught childbirth classes. It is such a fun time.
Your swap blocks look great. I have more cut, but no more together yet.
Stay well!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! That is such wonderful news Christine! I'm so happy for you. We are expecting our first bub in just a few days now (sigh!) and I highly recommend finding out the sex of the baby. Once we knew she was a she, it seemed to bond us to her even more. And of course, I went straight to the sewing machine with pink fabric in hand!
